Pigmentation and Melasma Treatments

Skin pigmentation —whether caused by sun exposure, hormones (melasma) or post-inflammatory factors— can be challenging to treat, but with the right active ingredients it's possible to even out the skin tone and restore a more luminous, uniform complexion.

Types of pigmentation and their origin

  • Solar lentigines: small brown spots in sun-exposed areas (face, hands, décolletage).
  • Melasma: larger, more diffuse patches, often hormonal in origin (pregnancy, contraceptives).
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: dark marks following acne, wounds or procedures.

The most effective brightening actives

In this collection you'll find brightening serums, vitamin C creams, alpha-arbutin, kojic acid, niacinamide, tranexamic acid and glycolic acid, as well as combined treatments for hyperpigmentation.

Sunscreen is essential

There's no point applying brightening products if you don't use SPF 50 sunscreen every day. The sun is the main trigger for pigmentation and the one factor that cancels out any treatment. Reapply every 2 hours under direct exposure.

Consistency is key for visible results

Brightening treatments require at least 8-12 weeks of consistent use to show visible results. Mature skin with pigmentation can combine these actives with a complete anti-ageing routine.
